Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle Cell Anaemia is caused due to a genetic defect in the haemoglobin gene which changes the shape of red blood cells from round to sickle. This distorted shape of red blood cells can cause other symptoms such as Anaemia, infections, fever and episodes of pain crisis.
