Pediatric Hematology/Hematologist

Dr. Silky Jain is a pediatric hematologist medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood disorders in children. She is a Pediatric hematologist and trained to provide care for a wide range of medical conditions.

A vast number of heterogenous blood disorders can be seen in children. Majority of them are benign in nature and involve one or more of the 3 main types of cells in blood- Red blood cells (haemoglobin)/white blood cells/platelets. Some of the common blood disorders seen in children are:

• Anemia (Low haemoglobin)
• Thalassemia or Sickle cell anemia (Defective haemoglobin leading to anemia)
• Platelet disorders eg. ITP
• Clotting abnormalities like haemophilia, thrombosis
